150-hour Advanced Course

London and Andalusia

Back to all yoga Teacher Training

For passionate qualified teachers, development is essential to grow further. Up your game with our 150-hour advanced programme.

For those who’ve completed a foundation course and want to explore yoga on a deeper level, our Yoga Alliance approved advanced teacher training allows you get there in a supportive group environment.

This carefully curated training begins in Andalusia, and concludes in London, UK – a city at the cutting edge of modern movement and personal growth.

As experts in their field, Carl Faure (Senior Yoga Teacher) and Calli Popham (Chartered Teacher Level 2) work together to lead this successful course that promises both a profound and thoroughly educational experience. To help co-create the powerful group field for our unique advanced training, we’ve brought in Conor Cregg, an experienced group facilitator, to lead the co-counselling aspect. You will learn repatterning and basic counselling skills (for non-professionals), about meta-cognition and reactivity, and how to hold space, as we do, for individuals and groups.

Stretch, London

Half of the training takes place at our Broadway Market studio over the course of a week. This bright and calming space is just the right environment to absorb your yoga training.

We’ve seen many of our foundation graduates happily continue their development, as well as other non-Stretch Yoga Alliance qualified teachers. Carl (Senior Yoga Teacher) and Calli (Chartered Teacher Level 2) work harmoniously together to offer their varied knowledge and experiences, both in the seat of the teacher and as practitioners.

Suryalila, Spain

A week of immersive training commences at Suryalila, located in Andalusia, Southern Spain.

Here you’ll reach deeper into Patanjali’s yoga sutras, Ayurvedic science and India’s rich philosophical heritage; you will tap into the power of storytelling, creative sequencing and discover your unique voice in your teaching; and finally, we will help you explore your purpose and find the fierce passion in your teaching.

Senior Yoga Teacher and Founding Director of Stretch

Carl has studied a variety of yoga practices and is particularly interested in the kind of yoga exploration first pioneered by Vanda Scaravelli. He is excited about how these paradigm-bothering practices intersect and complement both the modern movement world and ancient yogic philosophy. Carl loves to draw influence from practices outside of the yoga space, too: breath-work, inquiry and group process work inform the foundation and advanced teacher trainings.

Now a seasoned teacher of 12 years’ experience, cut at the heart of the London yoga scene and having brought over 100 new yoga teachers through, Carl is delighted to deliver a fully developed training programme that he heads up with Calli.

Senior Yoga Teacher & Pre / Postnatal Corrective Exercise Specialist

Calli has been practising yoga for over 20 years, has over 500 hours of training and teaches workshops and retreats internationally.
Calli's energy and enthusiasm for teaching yoga and empowering yoga teachers is contagious; she’s passionate, playful and nurturing in her teaching style.
Having enjoyed 2 active pregnancies (a lot of which were standing on her hands) and birthing two babies via c section, Calli is passionate about upgrading the narrative around pre and postnatal people, reminding them and those that teach them, that they are powerful beyond words.

What you’ll learn

Here’s a brief overview of each module covered within the programme.

Yoga philosophy

An in-depth exploration of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras with an accompanying insight into classical yoga and its historical positioning with modern postural yoga (MPY) canon.

Discover a wide range of meditation practices, their origins and applications.

Asana and movement

Advanced asana practise and a fresh approach to some traditional asanas. High-level inversion training and the use of props such as chairs (plus less traditional props, too). Functional movement as yoga and how to straddle seemingly different paradigms by looking to classical yoga philosophy for guidance.

Applied anatomy

A fresh perspective from ‘dead man’s’ anatomy, looking at the role of intention and well-trodden neural pathways as opposed to the muscle-centric mechanistic approach favoured by many schools. Experiencing and discovering the subtle yet powerful approach that started with Vanda Scaravelli and was developed by those that followed her.

A further exploration into pranayama practice and its deeper purpose.

Yoga therapy

A range of troubleshooting and applied techniques to support some of the commonplace injuries that are presented in the yoga room.

Finding purpose and unlocking creative potential

Working with myriad techniques to help you find your voice, your style, and to step into your stride as creative, expressive and passionate teachers.

Group therapeutic processing

With Conor as our guide, we will deepen the group field and explore new ways to hold space and emotionally support your students (and each other) with what may come up in the classroom, retreat space or trainings.

Deepen and further your own yoga practice

As well as practising for two hours every day you train, you will get plenty of personal assistance and help with your poses, encouraged to deepen your practice and to set and achieve goals within it.

In-touch days

In between the two modules, we will be holding in-touch days for all students to touch base with Carl and Calli. These will be opportunities to discuss any difficulties, to bring any new learnings, discoveries or questions. We encourage students to take advantage of these days.

Reading list and homework

Upon signing up for the course, you will receive a comprehensive reading list that has been collated by Carl and Calli. This reading list isn’t definitive and will naturally expand. There is required reading and recommended reading. You will also need to bring a copy of the Stretch teacher training manual. Information on where to obtain the manual will be given to you on registration. There will be ongoing homework and assessments throughout the course and these are to be completed in your own time.

Please fill out the application form below, and we’ll get back to you with more detail as soon as we can.
